More than Whisky

When you think of Whisky Live, you might think of intrigued attendees conversing around whisky stands and surrounded by unique bottles. And you wouldn’t be wrong – Whisky Live is all that! But it’s also more.
Whisky Live is also now the perfect opportunity to bring your gin or vodka drinking friends to the event! For some years now, Whisky Live has provided drinkers of the liquid gold an insight into what else the spirits industry has to offer.
A number of other spirits of the non-whisky category were introduced in 2018. Here is a run down…
Gin & Jonnie
Gin & Jonnie Gastro Gin (short for ‘gastronomy gin’) was a hit amongst the fine spirits collection of Whisky Live 2018. This gin boasts the unique ability to transform with whatever flavours are thrown at it. Great in cocktails or with a mixer, the Gin & Jonnie stand is a must stop for gin lovers.
Plantation Pineapple Rum
Have a bit of a sweet tooth? Plantation provided the goods last year with their Stiggins’ Fancy Plantation Pineapple Rum. This rum was inspired by the infamous Charles Dickins’ character, Reverend Stiggins, and the history of pineapple rum’s invention. Using Queen Victoria pineapples and a complex method of distillation, Plantation has produced a stand out product that tells its story in just one sip.
Legend of Kremlin Vodka
Distilled from Russian winter wheat, this vodka is based on a historic recipe developed by Monk Isador in 1493. Forget everything you thought you knew about vodka! Legend of Kremlin will invite you to discover rich grain and toasty bread notes. If vodka is your thing, Whisky Live provides a select range of innovative choices to try out.
Chateau de Montifaud Cognac
Whisky and cognac are often enjoyed in the same spaces. So it only makes sense that the best will make an appearance at Whisky Live 2019. Chateau de Montifaud take the minimum age requirements for cognac and double it. The result, an incredible flavour palate that is a testament to six generations of distilling knowledge. Since 1837, the Vallet family have been perfecting the art of fine cognac and their expertise shows.
Rare & Old Bar
for those attending this year’s event, expect to find some vintage rum on the Rare & Old bar’s exclusive list for the first time. If you are out to try something luxurious, now is your chance. The team at Whisky Live are big fans of a quality spirit with a story and have curated a bar full of Rare & Old whiskies, but why not a great rum or two?– So keep your eyes peeled for the quirky and creative!
