From the Father of Japanese Whisky
The Nikka Yoichi 20 yo is a whisky overflowing with history and culture – and it’s available at Whisky Live’s Rare & Old Bar! The sudden popularity of Japanese whisky has outrun the country’s ability to produce it. For this reason, Nikka was forced to discontinue its single malt range – including the beloved and highly sought-after Yoichi 20. Yoichi Distillery is Nikka’s oldest and the first creation of Masataka Taketsuru, ‘The Father of Japanese Whisky’. In Yoichi 20 you will be met with Taketsuru’s vision, born from his family’s traditional sake brewing secrets and his time in Scotland distilleries. Take advantage of this opportunity to taste one of the greatest whiskies to come out of Japan.

If The Macallan casks could talk… these are the tales they’d tell
The 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s are the decades that made The Macallan what it is today, and each bottle of The Macallan Decades Collection has a story to tell. The Rare & Old Bar will once again be offering a glimpse into The Macallan’s history through this collection. From Scotland’s coal shortage in the 1930s to the restrictions on Spanish oak sherry casks during WW2, this collection is an excellent representation of the resilience and adaptability of distilleries. Want to know more of Macallan’s history? All four decades will be represented at the Rare & Old Bar, along with bartenders ready to share the secrets behind each expression, aroma and taste.

The Rare & Old bar is filled with bottles you’ll only ever experience at the event. Each dram is available in 15mL half-nips at reasonable prices. If you would love to try an exclusive dark spirit, you can pre-purchase gift vouchers here.
